NEWSFLASH: Braam is the New Face of the newly re-launched Wildlife Programme “50/50” on SABC2! Braam’s segment is called “Get Connected with Braam”
On the 15th of December 2006, global adventurer and endurance runner Braam Malherbe, along with his running partner David Grier, became the first people to run the entire length of the Great Wall of China - that's over 4200km! This run broke several endurance records - 98 days of running a full marathon per day - in addition to being a world first! Braam's epic journey across the Gobi Desert, into the mountains of north China, and down to the Yellow Sea, was also a vehicle for raising money for Operation Smile.
This charity facilitates reconstructive surgery for impoverished children born with facial deformities, such as cleft palates. Several surgeries took place while he was running.
Braam and David have been named the 2006 “Out There” magazine Adventurers of the Year’, beating out other legendary international adventurers such as Mike Horn for the title.
COASTAL CHALLENGE – COMPLETED 8th OF OCTOBER 2008 On the 8th of October 2008, Braam and David finished the Cipla Spar Miles for Smiles Coastal Challenge, which saw them run a distance of 3 500km around the foot of Africa in the name of charity! As before, all proceeds will go to Operation Smile.
The Coastal Challenge started on the 1st of July from Oranjemund in Namibia, and concluded on the 8th of October 2008. Malherbe and Grier ran 45km a day for 6 days a week, in the shape of a smile as they made their way around Africa's southern coastline to Ponto D'Ouro in Mozambique.
Most of their route saw the pair travel along South Africa's coastline. Speaking to the Cape Times Malherbe said, "Because of all the negative feelings and the bad economy, we wanted to focus our challenge around our home country - for inspiration and to let people know that anything is possible."
As well as an endurance athlete, environmentalist and humanitarian (specifically youth development), Braam is an energetic and accomplished speaker –with a story not to be missed!
On 22 February Braam released his new talk, ‘NO TIME LIKE NOW’, which is not to be missed: Creating the Future • Finding the Zone • Challenging Boundaries • Overcoming Crises • Following Intuition • Understanding the Power of the Mind
POWER BEYOND MEASURE "The Race Continues: This Time for Planet Earth!" In his newest presentation, Braam is spreading the word that “we are in for the longest, most difficult race for our very existence!”
Like Al Gore and millions of others, Braam is speaking out about The Climate Crisis.
"As a result of global warming, thousands of species are already extinct with millions on the brink, including humans! It has been scientifically explained and is generally accepted, that at the current rate of carbon emissions going into the atmosphere, we have, at best, two generations of human habitation on the planet!"
With a dynamic presentation on this hot topical subject Braam shows how we are living in the most exciting times in the history of the earth and the incredible opportunity we have to save our planet.

"I wanted to commend you on your recent presentation at the annual Sun Partner Executive Summit. In my field, I have personally been exposed to a large number of "motivational / guest speakers" at events and conferences, and your message, both delivery and its content, way surpassed anything I have ever seen. I believe the most important element was that you close by showing the results of your efforts, the smiles on those children's faces. What a priceless experience, and you share it with an audience in the most professional and engaging manner. I received exceptionally positive feedback from my delegates and management, and think it's the first time in my career I have seen a motivational speaker literally bring an audience of predominently men to tears." Claire Alexander, Regional Marketing Manager: Sub Sahara Africa, Sun MicroSystems

"An epic story of courage, tenacity and the will to reach the goal in the face of adversity . A very human story delivered by an “ordinary guy“ who has infinite belief in himself and the cause that he represents. Braam is inspirational, does not lecture, but keeps the tone on a personal level leaving you feeling that “Yes anything is possible“ - it's really up to the individual to chase their belief to their ultimate, whatever that is . We were continually reminded that it was not “I“ but we, we did as a team and that strife in a team really just needs good humane guidance and a goal lead by constant reminder that each and every little win adds up to the big win for all." Carl Wakeham, Director, Underline Advertising
