Peter van Kets - Joint Winner of the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007
Peter van Kets was the joint winner of the the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007, which started from San Sebastian, La Gomera in December 2007 and finished 5000km away at Nelsons Dockyard, Antigua. Competitors not only had to propel themselves across the ocean, but also had to be completely self sufficient in the process. Seemingly not satisfied with the thrill and adventure that went with winning the 5438km Woodvale Atlantic pairs, Peter van Kets has decided that the challenge of going it alone was just too tempting.
If victorious in the race, which is expected to begin in December 2009, Van Kets will become the first man to win both the Atlantic singles and pairs.

Braam Malherbe - Breaking records on the Great Wall of China!
On the 15th December 2006, along with his running partner, David Grier, Braam became the first person to run the entire length of the Great Wall of China. That's over 4200km! His run broke several endurance records - 98 days of running a full marathon per day - in addition to being a world first! Braam's epic journey across the Gobi Desert, into the mountains of north China, and down to the Yellow Sea, was also a vehicle for raising money for Operation Smile.
On the 8th of October 2008, Braam concluded his next marathon mission: He completed a 4 000km route drawing a smile around the coastline of Southern Africa. The marathon began on July 3rd 2008. “The challenge is to incorporate the three flags of Namibia, South Africa and Mozambique and to shadow the coast as closely as possible from Oranjemund, crossing the Orange River, getting permission to cross the diamond fields, all the way around, past Cape Town and then up to the Mozambican border. If you picture that, it’s a smile all the way around southern Africa”.

Bern is a man who will not be stopped by obstacles and adversity, and he is constantly setting himself new goals and challenges everyday. In June 2005, he attempted to better his own record but due to the team being hit by altitude sickness and severe cold, they were unable to summit.
