Braam Malherbe - Breaking records on the Great Wall of China!
On the 15th December 2006, along with his running partner, David Grier, Braam became the first person to run the entire length of the Great Wall of China. That's over 4200km! His run broke several endurance records - 98 days of running a full marathon per day - in addition to being a world first! Braam's epic journey across the Gobi Desert, into the mountains of north China, and down to the Yellow Sea, was also a vehicle for raising money for Operation Smile.
On the 8th of October 2008, Braam concluded his next marathon mission: He completed a 4 000km route drawing a smile around the coastline of Southern Africa. The marathon began on July 3rd 2008. “The challenge is to incorporate the three flags of Namibia, South Africa and Mozambique and to shadow the coast as closely as possible from Oranjemund, crossing the Orange River, getting permission to cross the diamond fields, all the way around, past Cape Town and then up to the Mozambican border. If you picture that, it’s a smile all the way around southern Africa”.

Janie du Plessis – Former Television Personality and Model • Breast Cancer Survivor
Gorgeous, entertaining and hugely inspiring, it’s not surprising that Janie du Plessis was one of South Africa's youngest ever TV presenter. Her personal charm and enduring good looks make her a popular South African celebrity who, today, is much in demand for guest appearances, magazine covers, advertising promotions, TV shows, public speaking tours and more. Each 'performance' is unique and she seldom speaks from notes. ("My audience usually guides me into the direction the speech needs to go.") She prefers to tap into her audience, quickly getting them on board through infectious humour and a very genuine concern. Janie encourages her audiences to want to pick themselves up… dust themselves off… and make a new start.

Noel’s talks are distinctive in that they seamlessly blend his art and scientific training with experiences and narratives, taking the audience on a journey along the shore and into the oceans, and offering close encounters with many of the world’s fascinating species. This he does by incorporating original paintings, illustrations and field notes, making the experience one-of-a-kind, and along the way engaging the narrative through the eyes of an artist, the thoughts of a scientist and the passions of a storyteller.
